A gym is an indoor fitness facility filled with a variety of exercise equipment like free weights, resistance machines, treadmills, and stationary bikes, designed to help people improve strength, endurance, and overall health. It’s a versatile space where individuals can either work out on their own or follow guided training sessions. Many gyms offer group classes, personal trainers, and amenities like locker rooms and showers, creating a supportive and motivating environment for fitness enthusiasts of all levels.

Surajit Sen has been dedicated to training at the gym for two years, focusing on two key areas: hypertrophy and powerlifting. Hypertrophy training is all about building muscle size by working with moderate to heavy weights and a moderate number of repetitions. This type of training causes small muscle fiber damage and metabolic stress, which stimulates muscle repair and growth, helping Surajit achieve a bigger, more defined physique.
Alongside hypertrophy, Surajit practices powerlifting, a sport focused on lifting as much weight as possible in three core lifts—the squat, bench press, and deadlift. Powerlifting involves lifting heavy weights for fewer repetitions to build maximum strength, improve muscle recruitment, and increase bone density. This intense, high-load training helps enhance both muscle power and overall functional strength, making everyday tasks easier and boosting athletic performance.

Combining hypertrophy and powerlifting allows Surajit to develop not only muscle size but also raw strength—making his workouts balanced and effective. Regularly working out in a gym environment provides Surajit access to professional guidance, a wide range of equipment, and a structured routine, which helps maintain consistency and motivation.

Overall, this dual approach not only improves Surajit’s physical appearance but also enhances his mental well-being and energy levels.
